Stomach Problems - Indigestion, Heartburn, Acid Reflux
Any of a number of problems associated with eating is usually classified under one heading: Indigestion. This can include, but not limited to: mild burning sensation, gas, bloating, slow digestion, regurgitation, an acidic taste in the mouth, and nausea.
Usually the problem is due to inefficient eating habits. Overcooked, and/or enzyme deficient food, improper food combining (such as eating fruit for dessert), or dairy products, can all lead to stomach discomfort. What can be done about it?
Indigestion, heartburn, and acid reflux can be problematic. Incorporate as many raw and fresh food into your diet as possible, as they contain naturally occuring enzymes. Fermented Foods (such as sauerkraut) are very beneficial to the stomach and digestive system as a whole (due in part because of its high level of active bacteria), and should be part of everyones diet.
Supplement with probiotics and/or enzymes - Probiotics, like enzymes, are crucial for digestion. In fact, the largest part of digestive function is the responsibility of intestinal microbes. Enzymes are a close second. Unfortunately, due to poor eating habits and overcooked food, enzymes are usually not present to digest food properly.
